Chris Wimbush
Managing Director
Chris Wimbush is the founder of Wimbush Consulting and the designer of the Good Work Agenda, a management philosophy that helps organizations align strategy, people, and operations so Good Work becomes the norm, not the exception. He brings more than a decade of executive leadership experience across the nonprofit, corporate, and public sectors, with a career spent building healthier, more reliable ways of working in complex environments.
Chris currently serves as Interim President at Catholics for Choice, where he has led culture and operations work through a period of significant transition, helping the organization clarify priorities, reset workloads, and adopt more sustainable operating routines. Before stepping into that role, he held senior human resources, operations, and executive positions — including Chief Operating Officer — where he strengthened teams, redesigned management systems, and managed initiatives to improve culture and performance across professional services firms, startups, and nonprofits. Much of his work has involved navigating challenging people dynamics, balancing organizational ambition with the capacity and wellbeing of the people doing the work.
Earlier in his career, Chris practiced law and served in the federal government. He began as a law clerk to U.S. District Court Judge Raymond A. Jackson of the Eastern District of Virginia, then worked as a litigator at a major Washington, D.C. law firm. He later served as a federal trial and appellate employment lawyer at the U.S. Department of Justice, specializing in employment law and commercial litigation, and went on to direct multi-million-dollar settlement program. As a management consultant, he supported federal agencies, including the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, where he helped lead projects related to the COVID-19 pandemic response and redesign of logistics systems to better serve veterans.
Chris’s approach to Good Work is also shaped by his academic background. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from George Washington University, a Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law, and a Master of Business Administration from Babson College, where he focused on human decision-making, people development, and organizational leadership. That blend of legal training, business education, and real-world executive experience underpins his ability to help leaders connect strategy, people, and operations in practical, sustainable ways.
